Der Höhepunkt des Sommers in Altea La Vieja ist die Fiesta de Santa Ana, das Fest zu Ehren der Schutzheiligen de Dorfes. Während sich die Dorfbewohner noch in der nachmittäglichen Siesta befinden schiebt ein Schausteller einen Karren mit Spiezeugen und Heliumballons in Stellung.

The highlight of summer in Altea La Vieja is the Fiesta de Santa Ana, the festival in honor of the patron saint of the village. While the villagers are still taking the afternoon siesta, a man pushes a cart with toys and helium balloons into position.

Nicht gerade typisch spanisch, dafür aber sehr lecker und und erfrischend: die kalte Tagessuppe wird im Sommer von der russisch-stämmigen Köchin der Bar “La Soleada” zubereitet
